„The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each Goal and target by 2030.“

(United Nations, https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/)

With the adoption of Agenda 2030, a further milestone was set in 2015 in the global sustainability debate for sustainable development. The Agenda sets out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that address the five core messages of people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership. The focus of this module will be on SDGs 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth” and 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production”. These two SDGs will be examined and discussed by experts from different disciplines.
