Description

The Aachen Theatre invites students to an exclusive workshop to take a look behind the scenes and get to know the fascinating world of theatre. In a small and interactive format, participants can discover the various aspects of theatre and try their hand at art. Whether you are a theatre enthusiast or a newcomer, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the theatre up close.

In the current season, Theater Aachen celebrates its 200th birthday. In the last 200 years, not only have many outstanding productions been created, but important discourses have also been held and unusual paths have been taken. Theater Aachen aims to be a place of inspiration and artistic development for its city. In numerous productions and formats, also in this season. But is theatre still relevant? Isn’t it outdated and obsolete? To what extent does it participate in current discourses in the city, or is it just simple entertainment?

Due to the very limited number of participants, we ask that you only register if you can and want to participate regularly in the module.

Learning Outcomes

The participants should:

  • develop a comprehensive understanding of theatre and its significance in today’s society.
  • get to know the different processes and structures in theatre.
  • learn which steps are involved in a production.
  • be encouraged to experience theatre as a place of artistic expression and social discourse and to actively participate in it themselves.
